Why coaching

The review

‘It’s feedback, not criticism.’ The review is not personal.

Heard and said dozens of times …

There you stand with your soul in your work, in the trash.

As if you can’t take this personally.

As if sensitivity to the work is a weakness and a professional should switch off his feeling in criticism.

But this work is yours and belongs to you.

When I do my job, it’s personal.

Not because I can’t do it any other way, but because sensitivity and personality make the work better.

Working in the creative industry can hurt. Also as a producer or manager. That means that you put something of yourself in it.

Do your work with everything you have for the best result. Dare to show yourself and be vulnerable.

Happiness is now mainly in the tail

De Volkskrant writes: ‘Young adults are no longer among the happiest age groups, but are now the most unfortunate group.’ In line with a global trend: young people and young adults have more and more psychological problems, they worry more and more often have anxiety and depression complaints. Especially the mental health of young women is under pressure. Performance pressure, the rise of smartphones and (especially) social media may play a role.

AI as a therapist? A terrible idea

Thijs Launspach writes in his substack: ‘A good therapist does not tell you what you want to hear, but exactly what you do not want to hear.’ He shows how AI despiteAlways oncan never replace a human coach. The human connection, empathy and the ability to pierce through incongruences are essential in the therapeutic process.
